Elan’s diverse civil practice encompasses a wide range of pre-litigation and litigation matters, including municipality and police defense, contracts, construction, real estate, intellectual property, business torts, general business disputes, toxic torts, general insurance defense, personal injury, and dignitary torts. He has a robust track record that includes numerous successful jury trials and civil appeals, and he has served as mediator.

Regardless of whether his client is a large corporation involved in a complex dispute or a local community member with personal legal concerns and budget constraints, Elan’s dedication knows no bounds. He places a premium on understanding his clients’ legal needs and crafting sound legal approaches and practical solutions to address them effectively.

Elan has called Arizona his home since 1978, when his family relocated from his birthplace of Brooklyn, New York. Growing up in the Phoenix area and graduating from Sunnyslope High School (class of 1988), he pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona (class of 1992) and continued his legal education at Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law (class of 1996). His deep-rooted ties to the community are exemplified by his extensive involvement in charitable endeavors, community programs, rugby clubs, soccer teams, and a nomination for the Martin Luther King “Living the Dream” award. Currently, he is on the Scottsdale Public Art Advisory Board where he has served as a board member since 2018.
