Andrew “Drew” Downing has been litigating cases for 30 years. Early in his career, he was lead trial counsel for many national insurance companies in medical malpractice, product liability, ERISA and bad faith cases. Drew has also represented the States of Arizona, Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana in insurance receivership matters, which include corporate looting, D&O litigation, and various other litigation matters. Drew is also recognized as one of the preeminent litigation attorneys in the Court of Federal Claims in Washington, DC, for vaccine related injuries.

Education & Admissions
Drew earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rice University, and he received his Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa where he was a merit scholarship winner. He is rated AV Preeminent through Martindale-Hubbell, a peer-review ratings system which is an objective indicator of a lawyer’s high ethical standards and professional ability. Attorneys receive a rating based on evaluations by other members of the bar and the judiciary in the United States and Canada. An AV Preeminent is a significant rating accomplishment, a testament to the fact that a lawyer’s peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence.

Drew has authored multiple journal articles, including “Oklahoma Employers Beware: The Rock and a Hard Place Dilemma”, Vol. 72, No. 21, Oklahoma Bar Journal (7/14/01). This article was cited by the Oklahoma Supreme Court as the authority on the dissolution of Oklahoma’s Special Indemnity Fund in the case of Autry v. Multiple Injury Trust Fund, 38 P.3d 213, 217 (Okla. 2001). He also wrote “The Oklahoma Workers’ Compensation Act and Daubert: Applying the Reliability Requirement of Rule 702 to Exposure Cases Before the Workers’ Compensation Court”, Vol. 77, No. 27, Oklahoma Bar Journal (10/7/06), for which Mr. Downing won the Bar Association’s 2006 Maurice Merrell Golden Quill Award for outstanding writing.

Mr. Downing is a frequent speaker at national conferences and media outlets. Mr. Downing has also been an adjunct Professor of Advanced Torts at the University of Tulsa.
